You can ask us further questions or inquires by sending an email to us. Below is a case study of a sale between Miki Seiki Co., Ltd. and a customer in New Zealand. Example of a sale between Miki Seiki and a foreign customer To help our customers understand the process of purchasing a vehicle in Japan and importing it to their respective countries, we have provided a case study below.

Mr. Smith was interested in purchasing a vehicle and decided to find his next vehicle through the internet. He came across the Miki Seiki homepage (www.miki-seiki.com) and sent an inquiry to request access to the list of vehicles available for sale. Shortly after, he received an email that provided him with a username and password. Mr. Smith logged into the homepage and saw a vehicle that he was interested in. He then contacted Miki Seiki and made further inquiries. After receiving a response and reviewing the details, he then decided to purchase the vehicle. He sent another email to make an offer for the vehicle.

The offer was accepted and a sales invoice was issued by Miki Seiki on 21 March, 2003. Mr. Smith made the payment and then faxed the customer bank receipt on 24 March, 2003. The vehicle was then transported to the port on 29 March, 2003. The ship disembarked Japan on 9 April, 2003 and headed towards New Zealand. Miki Seiki then sent the Bill of Lading, de-registration papers and all necessary documents via the EMS delivery service on 11 April, 2003. Upon the shipfs arrival, Mr. Smith paid the shipping freight of NZ$1,100 and handled the customs clearance in New Zealand. .

So why did Mr. Smith purchase a vehicle all the way in Japan? Price was the main factor. Generally, used vehicles from Japanese manufacturers are priced much cheaper in the home market of Japan. Export of used vehicles in Japan is quite common. Countries such as Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom are ideal because of the similarities of having right-handed driven vehicles. Mr. Smith benefited in both price and service. Miki Seiki Co. Ltd. has the experience and expertise in selling vehicles abroad.
